Sussex Arts Collective

Each month there will be a fresh selection of individually designed and hand-crafted artworks to view and buy direct from established and emerging creators and makers. You’ll find quality and contemporary work made by sculptors; painters; fine art printmakers; jewellers of all kinds; and makers in glass, ceramics, textiles, and wood. In addition, members will be showcasing their skills throughout the year in workshops, presentations and demonstrations.

See how Franziska Wieser makes her exquisite scarves; from a thumbnail drawing, calculating the number of threads through to the weaving.

Have a go on a simple loom.

Join Marilyn Willis for an inspiring morning of stitching. You will learn a range of hand embroidered stitches to use for your flower design, within a 3” hoop. This can be used as a frame.
All materials will be provided, 6 people maximum.

Sussex Arts Collective, Collections Three

In May, COLLECTIONS THREE sees another fresh selection of unique handcrafted work created by artists and craftspeople from across the county.

The featured artist for May is Franziska Wieser, She has been exhibiting with the group since 2015. Her distinctive jewellery and bowls employ processes of electroplating fabrics, natural and found objects, such as ginkgo leaves, sycamore seeds and even recycled sackcloth, with silver and copper.
