Thank you for your interest in supporting SCIP

We welcome every, and any level of support you are able to give SCIP. These are uncertain times, which have put our organisation under a huge amount of pressure. If you are able to make a donation to help SCIP we are very grateful.

In addition to funds raised from people hiring the gallery, we also rely on donations. You can make a donation of any value via our online donations portal. If you are considering a larger gift, and would like to discuss your support we would welcome an opportunity to speak with you.

Why is it important to support the arts?

The arts form a core part of our culture, from television shows, movies, music, book covers, public sculpture, architecture, dance, theatre….. the list is endless! It is so important to ensure that communities have access to creative opportunities where individuals can experience culture designed for them. Without access to the arts we stop creating, and what a sorry world that would be for us all!

The arts play an important role in supporting good mental health, they provide a platform for social development in children, and help to develop career skills in young people! The benefits of an accessible cultural environment in every community are endless!

Breaking down barriers

Location is one for the biggest barriers stopping people from accessing the arts, especially young people. This is why our local programmes are so important, and why we are working hard to get young people through the doors of our exhibitions and workshops by including them in the creative process!

Cost is another huge barrier for many families, As parents too, our founders and trustees wanted to make all our children’s and youth workshops free of charge and accessible to everyone despite their family income.

We may have artworks for sale at some of our events but we do not expect vistors to buy, we just want them to come and experience and enjoy the art!

“But the arts aren’t for me…”

We don’t believe that statement, we believe that everyone can enjoy the arts. No one has to know anything about art to enjoy and feel welcome at a SCIP event!

Thank you for your support, from us all at Sussex Contemporary Illustrators & Printmakers (SCIP)
